Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting and great coverage! I wanted to colour match my garage door to my new front door, so chose Valspar exterior wood & metal paint as I’d previously had a really good match with some interior emulsion. I was so impressed with the quality, just 2 coats completely covered the old bright blue paint (more expensive brands have taken at least 3 coats on previous projects!) The garage door has been painted for about a year now and still looks as good as new. No colour fade, no scratches... perfect! Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good coverage, easy to paint - excellent adhesion I bought your colour matched wood and varnish paint for our external shutters in the south of France and it has been a joy to use. I painted them two years ago - easy to paint over well-prepared and primed, very old deep timber and it has survived two of the hottest summers on record so far and still looks amazing! Just used the left over paint to do our iron gates and they also look great! Looking to buy more for my sister's shutters as it has worn so well. Thank you :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed Purchased this paint as wanted to find a colour for our gates and railings that would match our garden gates and railings. Very pleased with the application and colour of paint. However, within 6 months the paint has started to peel and flake off leaving unsightly patches. I’d like to point out at this stage that the paint was applied by a professional painter and decorator. The paint was not cheap in price compared to many other brands and therefore expected far, far better. I have used Valspar paint for many other projects and have been very pleased but would definitely NOT recommend this range of Valspar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to work with We purchased this to change our front door and garage door, both metal finish, from a dark colour to a light one. After undercoating once the Valspar paint went on beautifully and the finish was smooth. Great paint to work with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flaky paint I bought a tin of metal paint from B&Q using the paint mixing service last year. It was easy to apply but in the last few months it has started to crack on flake off. I'm now having to re-paint using a different make of paint as this one is so bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful paint, avoid. Probably the worst paint I've ever used. Where to start... terrible to work with as it's virtually impossible to maintain a wet edge and you can't lay the paint off properly as it's so thick. Dries too quickly and doesn't leave a high gloss finish. The finish is patchy between, gloss, semi-gloss and almost matt. It's not hard-wearing either, if you wipe it over once dry the paint comes off, I've got cracks appearing on my front door already and a chalky deposit appearing from underneath. I used the valspar undercoat too and followed all the instructions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY LOW QUALITY SHOWS BRUSH MARKS & STICKY DUST I bought the external wood and metal eggshell paint after i decided that this was the colour i liked for the exterior of my shop. I decided after buying several samples from other companies. It applies easily and its easy to use... BUT after painting the shop's large flat surface fascia with a brush i realised that the brush marks are VERY VERY visible! I have been painting decorating with my dad since i was 13yo and although i am not pro decorator like my dad i am great at painting and DIY and i have painted many many walls and exterior surfaces either with a roll or a brush.. This is the first time i came across to this, the brush marks are so strong that when light goes on top it just looks ugly..!!! The other thing is that the paint after it dries and its been couple of months now it is still sticky(not wet sticky) and it absorbs all the dust and dirt from the air and it needs a daily cleaning...!! i Have to clean the shopfront from the dust EVERYDAY! I am on a busy road and theres is dust anyway BUT the dust just sticks all over the surface...! The shop next door doesn't have dirt stuck on its frame and its much smoother glacier the surface, whereas mine is just sticky!!! I am regretting i spent the sample money, the money to buy this paint and most of all i regret the HUGE effort and time i spent to paint 3 coats the shopfront and i need to find a better quality paint and i have to spend more ££ and time to repaint it..!! The brush marks are not visible on small surfaces. I have been told from B&Q that i should have brushed it vertically and thats how i did it on the bottom of the window display i did my brush marks vertically but they are still visible when the sun goes on top, they are even visible on the skirting board which i did horizontally... I've also been told i should have done them with a roll instead... My opinion is from all the paints i used over the years, if the paint and prep is good then it doesn't matter if you paint vertically or horizontally or with brush or roll, this sort of brush marks shouldn't have been visible.. Worst part, the neighbour next-door he's not happy either with the sticky and dirty surface, after i painted his door too...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not true Gloss I bought some exterior gloss in B and Q but didn't check the label. As soon as I opened the pot, I knew it wasn't right and then saw the label which said to clean the brush In water, my thought was confirmed. This paint was really easy to apply, hence the three stars but in no way can be described as gloss, when compared to Dulux Weathershield, which I would usually use. At best, it's semi gloss and after 3 coats doesn't come close to the finish of an oil base paint but now I've got it, I'll have to finish it but certainly won't buy more
