Rated 1 out of 5 by from Most horrific paint I’ve ever used!! Me and my partner have saved up for ages to completely refurbish our bathroom. I spent 3 days whitewashing, priming and meticulously frog taping the walls, only for it to be patchy, uneven, bubbly and peel off in HUGE sheets of rubbery mess. I’m so disappointed and disheartened as I’ve spent over £100 on this paint now, as we decided to go for a black/white two tone room, and it just looks awful. I’m at a loss at what to do now, as I don’t have the time or the money to start from square one. Might have to go old school and just rub the walls down with a mixture of straw and manure as I’m sure it would turn out better than Valspar bathroom paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great colours I bought this a month ago and was so good in kitchen I went and bought some for bathroom. Colour cards are really true to actual paint colours

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good! I have used Valspar a few times and initially thought it was great when used a few years ago however they must have changed their formula!!! First time I had problems was with outside wall paint. Two coats looked lovely and then a few weeks later had to touch up front of house only to find it now came out lighter!! So had to do the whole front of the house again! 2nd time was it took 3 coats of paint over a pale mushroom colour in a bedroom that I had already painted white, to even cover it! 3rd and last time was a bathroom - two coats went well however a couple of weeks later noticed it had all streak marks running down the wall and looked absolutely awful! Spoke to b&q and then Valspar who said that the room had to be moisture free for at least 1 week!!! It’s a bathroom!!! .. so decided to paint the worst bits again (oh it gets worse) and even though the paint was stored in a dark cupboard in the house and stirred well it came out lighter!!! Aarhhh!!! I have been painting for over 25 years and never had these problems. Not buying ever again!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from awful quality paint - not moisture resistant I initially decorated my bathroom a year and a half ago. We had Valspar mix a black paint which went on to the walls just fine. Very shortly afterwards, we started to notice bubbling in the paint on the walls and very quickly large areas of the paint work just came away from the wall. Our bathroom was painted black and the peeling paint looked absolutely awful. 2 weeks ago I finally mustered up the motivation to start all over again. I had initially assumed the issue was our fault so foolishly I went and bought yet another pot of Valspar paint.I prepped the peeled areas by scrapping and sanding back and primed the walls properly with a very good quality (not Valspar) primer. I wanted it to be done once and for all properly before Christmas. I took a week carefully overpainting my bathroom and left it for 4 days to dry before using the shower again, I have the extractor fan on constantly and my bathroom window is always open to allow air flow, we also have a decent radiator in the room. The first time the shower was used, the paint has bubbled, crazed and I have sections that have peeled clean off the wall. I have water run marks all over the walls, it is horrible. The primer underneath is stuck fast (unfortunately clearly visible under the peeled paint), that's fine, so its the bathroom paint that is the issue. Given the hard work put in, the money spent and the fact that its now Christmas week and I don't have the time or energy to fix it for a 3rd time, i'm livid and absolutely gutted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor coverage red tinted at store Valspar500 kitchen bathroom paint tinted high velocity. After being advised by vslspar technical and bq staff to get a grey primer which was selected by bq recommended for the base coat. 1 coat mist coat, 1 coat great, 4 coats of red and still very poor coverage, patchy over white filler and over the grey primer coat. So disappointing for customer as in her bathroom, 4 kids and not able to get bathroom back in working condition due to waiting for paint coverage before toilet radiator and basin goes in after the painting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Still patchy after 3 coats I recently had my room re-plastered. I mist coated the plaster witha white emulsion. I then bought Valspar V500 matt emulsion for walls and ceilings from B&Q. It says it should require 1-2 coats. I have now applied 3 coats and it is still patchy. I applied it with a roller for smooth walls. It looks like I will have to buy more paint because of this. It isnt cheap paint so I am extremely disappointed with it. I still have 1 wall to paint using a different colour, which I am now dreading, due to my experience on the other 3 walls. This has taken far longer to paint as a result and I will not be buying from this range again for the rest of the rooms I have to decorate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bathroom paint Poor paint quality, had to do at least 3 coats, had to buy two 2.5l tubs the bathroom isn't even big. Due to the first tub didn't coat well, was patchy in places. I used frog tape 2 weeks later on the paint, to paint the skirting boards, upon removing the tape it had taken the paint off the walls. I sent emails last year 2020 around september/October, had some replys which did take a long time. On the last one they sent, I replied with info which they asked for on the 26/10_20 .. not had a reply since and its march 2021. Very poor customer service aswell as the paint. Wouldn't recommend valspar. Over priced too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great... if you want paint that bubbles... Bought this paint from B&Q, York, was willing to pay extra for the v500 for the durability pitch and to get the colour right. After two coats, the paint has bubbles everywhere, am really very angry. And it looks like we’ll be need a 3rd or 4th coat which will introduce no doubt even more bubble. This is the last room in the house we have to decorate, and the first time I’ve used this brand of paint. Never again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks awful! I’m so disappointed with Valspar. I am going to have to paint the bathroom again for the 3rd time due to run marks and streaks on the walls. Think it’s time to use another brand as they insist that their paint shouldn’t do this. So disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable, takes many coats. Not worth it This paint was just an overall pain. It didnt roll well at all. It took 4 coats and still isn't totally covered. I used frog tape which I removed when the paint was still wet... this pulled large bits of the paint off requiring touch up. It's not durable. Splash and drip marks from handwashing are everywhere and a damp sponge does remove the paint. My son has even managed to draw a face on the wall just by running his finger the surface.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water streaks Couldn't obtain the brand and colour of bathroom paint I wanted at my local B&Q so opted for them to make up the colour I wanted using Blend v500. The paint went on really nice and covered quite well. Unfortunately after a few months there are water streaks down the walls. No amount of wiping or cleaning will remove them. Seriously looking to have to redecorate as it looks so bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Nice colours, terrible paint. Got bathroom paint mixed, stained with water spashes all around the sink from hand washing. Really hard to paint over too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not damp proof I can't afford to repaint my bathroom and over the last few months it's got worse and worse. We bought Valspar bathroom paint from B&Q. We have been advised there is no damp behind and we've not had an issue before. Every wall is like this. We now have to try and strip it somehow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad product be aware Brought this with good intentions and read the reviews afterwards. I decided to give the product benefit of the doubt and went ahead. Mist coated my walls put down the first coat and it went on so weak being blue I thought probably need 3 coats. 4 or 5 later still cutting in and the paint was awful took so long I got in the car and got a similar colour in Dulux kitchen 1 coat it took and the walls were covered a second coat and it was done I felt propper mugged off trying on long with the valspar Never again I wrote this review to save others the pain

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint We brought this paint after recently renovating both our kitchen and w.c, it was applied on plaster with a mist coat and then a full application, it went on really well and there was no need for a second coat. The colours we had made were exactly what we wanted

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bubbling and peeling off 2 coats of bathroom paint, went away for the weekend so it had a good drying time, just had a shower, where the wall got splashed with water the paint looks like it is melting !! Air bubble appeared and when I touched it the paint came away onto my hand. ! After all my hard work, time and money, it's all wasted, Now need to buy some dulux paint a d start all over again. Do not use this product, it is complete rubbish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dining room I have to say I got a professional in to decorate my dining room. It has very high ceilings and very bright so was concerned it would show up all imperfections. Anyway I had looked at the reviews after my painter recommended Velspar v700 and was a bit concerned but followed his advice. Well can’t be more pleased. Finish was perfect thank you Connor Quick Painting and Decorating. Will follow the professionals advice in future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish I'd read reviews first I have just painted my bathroom in Cavern Walls (mixed at B&Q), and after 2 coats I was initially impressed with the colour and finish. However just a couple of days later, I have a lot of water drip marks in quite a few areas around the bathroom - very disappointing given the price. I trusted this to be a good brand, but I wish I had read the online reviews first so I could have chosen another brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bathroom : do it again!!! I bought this paint because Dulux was not in stock. I bought it to paint the whole bathroom, that I have previously painted (over tiles). A big mistake as it is peeling off the wall where the shower water hits the wall. This did not happen with Dulux paint. Very annoyed that I now have to go and buy some other paint ant re-do the wall where it is peeling. I would not buy this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful subtle sheen almost matt finish Brought from b&q. Wow this stuff goes on really great. 2nd coat just finishes it off. Didn't find any of the negative feedback that others had. Finish, colour and durability of the paint is just perfect. Would say this would also be perfect for a kitchen too. Shame they don't do it in the 5l tubs. But didn't need large quantities for this smallish job

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Bought this paint, having painted numerous rooms, this has to be the worst paint ever used, 4 coats before the walls had even coverage and started to cover the cream coloured paint that had been there previously. Not a perfect finish by any means after 2 full tins of paint to cover 23m2, purchasing a third seemed a waste of good money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very upsetting. I bought the Valspar bathroom paint in Tuxedo blue as it’s difficult to find deep colours in bathroom paint ready made. I loved this colour but the paint is terrible. I spent three days, preparing the walls and then applying three coats in a tricky shaped bathroom, and it was still patchy, clearly needed atleast another two coats. Two days after painting the third coat, i noticed that after I’d had a shower and the room has steamed up, the paint was just flaking off the walls. It was horrible. It was just peeling off like a rubber layer. Also there are water marks by the sink that don’t wipe away. If you use a bathroom wipe to try and wipe them away, the blue just comes off the wall onto the wipe. I’m Now having to scrape the entire bathroom which is a nightmare. I’d taken the week off to do my bathroom and it was a complete waste of time, now struggling to sort it all out. I wish I’d read the reviews before purchasing, I will not be being this paint again. Extremely disappointed and upset.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this product! This is the worst paint I have ever used. Doesn’t cover well and is patchy. I’m currently on my third coat and having to do a fourth. I’ve used Valspar V500 Matt on every wall throughout my house and had no issues. This kitchen and bathroom paint is extremely disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Patchy after 3 coats! Do not use this product over a primer it looks shocking. I have used Valspar v700 in the past which is a much better paint but decided to go for this as I was painting the kitchen and this was specifically for kitchen and bathroom but if I were you I would avoid at all costs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water stains This bathroom paint was a little out of my price range (£27 for 2.5l) but thought that it would be very good quality and durable. This was absolutely not the case water marks all round the sink and shower area. I’m absolutely furious as I also paid to have the bathroom painted properly. I gave one star as I like the colour of the paint. I had dulux bathroom paint which was far cheaper and better quality. I do NOT recommend this paint

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New look for my kitchen I'm very pleased with the results, great coverage and durability.. After painting my kitchen walls with Valspar Blendv500 Sky Space it feels nostalgic and the colour is versatile blue-green that pairs well with both warm and cool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Streaky, Not scrubbable, Great colours..eventually We've painted a bathroom & ensuite recently..two different colours, two different pots of paint. Both equally terrible. The colours are great - once you've got them on! Each room took 4 coats and to be honest i could still go over it once more but i've completely had enough. It claims to be scrubbable...definitely do not try this. A soft, damp cloth is enough to leave wipe marks in the paint (no matter how long you leave it to cure). God only knows what would happen if you were to actually scrub it as they claim it can be. Every wall is covered ( and i mean covered) in streak marks from water/condensation running down them. It looks awful & won't wipe off. This is with windows & doors wide open, and extractor turned on! I've never seen paint do this before!! Seriously disappointed and disheartened with this paint, the fact it's not the cheapest, and took a lot of work! The range of colours is fantastic, but Valspar you need to seriously work on the quality of your product! You cannot sell a product made for a bathroom if it cannot handle the conditions of a bathroom!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely shocking I bought valspar bathroom paint few wks ago from b&q got the colour mixed to black it was shocking husband painted bathroom and paint has peeled off like rubber. Just got a new shower fitted few wks ago and got wetwall. The other wall was painted. Now having to strip rest of paint off wall and go get different paint altogether would never but valsoar paint again. Costing me more money not happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shocking paint I bought this paint a week ago painted an en-suite Nights Blue Arch I have now had to go and buy another pot as I’m onto my 6 coat and still not covered. This is a newly plastered room which has had a must coat before. Yesterday the tiler put some dust on the wall which I wiped off with a clean cloth and wiped some of the paint off, how can this paint work in a bathroom with steam? My walls are going to have runs down them, that’s if I ever get it fully covered
