Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coverage We found the colour range and choices of finishes really great and the colour on the wall was identical to the sample swatch card. The premium blend paint supposedly negates the need for primer etc and, although we were painting onto white already, we found that the colour ('melancholy monkey', a mustardy shade) went on so smoothly and densely with one initial coat that I could have left it at just the one coat. The sample pots are great, really generously sized in comparison to other brands. I have wiped the paint a lot due to children's sticky fingers with no affect on the finish. Would always go back to Valspar after our experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best paint on the market I have used this paint for EVERY room in my house! Its fantastic to work with... Had it colour matched to a much more expensive brand. It goes on very well either with a brush or roller and just gives an amazing finish! Wouldn't use anything else

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would recommend a million time over if I could! We moved into our first home In August 2018 and have fully renovated and decorated two rooms so Far the living room And master bedroom. We chose our colours from a premium brand and had them mixed at our local store. I was absolutely amazed when one of them Came back as a colour match of 99.9%! The paint goes on lovely and we had no clue problems on newly plastered walls (we also used Valspar white for our mist coat and ceilings) The paint is durable and wipeable. We chose quite dark blue and Grey colours and have so many remarks and comments on how good it looks (Someone even thought it was wallpaper) We are now on room number 3 and I wouldn’t even contemplate going anywhere else for our paint! I also love the fact they keep all your Colours on file So if you ever need to touch up you just give you’re name and it’s all there! If you’re wondering which paint to choose, choose Valspar End of!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really poor I have used both the v500 and v700 products. I have painted my bedroom with the V700 and have been very dissapointed with the finish and texture. Almost no difference in quality between the v500 and v700. Both poor. We are happy with the colour but thats it. Application was a nightmare as it is very thick and hard to get an even coverage with. Once it dried, the texture and finish was very very poor. It looks OK straight on but, if you look at a slight angle the horrible texture and patchy paint shows right through with even a slight shine to it (even though we used matte). We sanded the walls in between coats and have given the room 3 coats so far. This has made no difference and feels like a complete waste of time and money .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless colour match I ran out of paint after my walls were a little patch in places, only to find the colour had been discontinued. I went to Valspar with the original tin for them to colour match, paying 3 times more so that I didn’t have to redo the whole room. After painting, it looked darker but I hoped it would dry closer. It was way off. I could have matched it closer by eye - and did. Now I’ve had to buy a load more paint to do the whole room again. It’s useless and a waste of time and money - to even remotely call it a colour match is not only ridiculous, but also irresponsible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 5 coats later The walls were lined and primed and I bought a 1L of V700 to cover a pretty small wall. This done 2 coats and it was so patchy I bought another tin. 2 more coats and it was still patchy (see pictures) I need up having to buy a 3rd tin and do a 5th coat which gave the coverage I needed. Until I pulled the tape off from the edges! The paint was then so thick it has peeled the paint off with the tape, and not just your normal small chips. Huge chunks of paint which now have to be done again. I have used Dulux in 2 other rooms and I have done 1 coat with a few touch ups of a 2and coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely to paint with and hard wearing I absolutely love Valspar paint and would not go to any other brand. The colour matching is brilliant and I use it a lot, gives you so much more choice of colours and it’s exclusive to you! It’s a brilliant hard wearing paint that goes on well, I would not use anything else on my walls now. V700 all the way. I’ve still got bedrooms to paint and will use it for these too. I’ve added photos of what we have done so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super coverage Having grown tired of painting the hall, stairs & landing every year due to kids and pooch i decided to go for the v700 valspar range in matt. I live the farrow and ball pavilion grey so got his colour matched . I have needed a 5l tub in every other paint i have bought to do this area as its a large space and needs a 3-4 coats so bought the 5l in v700... looked brilliant after 1 coat but did 2 anyway and only used just over half a can, it looks gorgeous and have already had muddy paw prints on which wiped off no problem . Best paint i have used and have purchased same paint in different colours for rest of the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing paint! We were after a particular colour of grey and couldn’t find it anywhere until we came across Valspar paint. To say we were delighted is an understatement! I was really impressed with the huge range of colour too and it got me wanting to re-paint my whole home! I wasn’t sure what to expect from a pre mixed paint.. but I wasn’t disappointed when we put it on the walls! It’s exactly what we were looking for and it is a lovely paint to work with. It just glided on and dried the perfect colour! We have had lots of compliments off visitors, and I couldn’t recommend it enough!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely amazing!! This reviewe is 3 years late but I decorated my home 3 years ago and still to this day it is still on the walls even after scrubbing and steam cleaning my walls it’s not faded or come off with a little girl and a dog this stuff is amazing one wipe and it’s as if it’s been painted that day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect colour at such a good price! I chose Valspar after seeing it had Good House Keeping seal on it. I was looking for a sunny yellow that would brighten the room and not cost the earth! I absolutely love it-it came out so much better than I thought. I normally would have gone with a different brand which has a much higher price point but I am so glad I took the risk and chose Valspar! I keep trying to upload a photo but it won't accept-so picture a warm yellow (relatively well painted)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy! We used this in matt and although the colour is beautiful the quality is shocking! It took three coats and really could maybe do with another but we went from really light lilac to Ebony lake and its taken minimum 3 coats. As soon as you touch it leaves a white mark, there's water marks on it from where we have washed our hands and it's dripped down! I tried wiping with just water and the paint was coming off! Will NEVER buy again!! Paid for it expecting it to be decent for the price but it most definitely was not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from V700 in Childs Nursery. About a year ago we started to decorate in time for the arrival of our first child. We opted for the v700 as we thought, further down the line, when he's using crayons etc - these should easily wash out with the v700. Well, we didn't have to wait too long. By 7 months old, our son could: 1. Remove his nappy, 2. take samples from the nappy 3. Stand up with some assistance. In this instance the wall was his preferred support, depositing the nappy samples in the process. If only cleaning the carpet was as easy as the walls. Everything came off and not a mark is to be seen. Would highly recommend this. Glad we spent the extra money. It's been a saving (financially and time wise) in the long run.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruined ceiling I have lived a this address for 35 years and have painted my lounge ceiling many times. We wanted a particular colour this time time so had it mixed at B&Q. The paint was awful, it dried very quickly as i was using it and it has left tramlines and sandy patches on the ceiling. I have never had a problem painting this ceiling and have never seen anything like this. I complained to no avail at B&Q and like a fool had another batch mixed. The new batch was as bad and made the ceiling even worse. I complained again and i got a replacement tin of another brand, the new paint has failed to cover up the mess and it looks like i will have to strip or seal the ceiling. What a waste of time and energy, this paint is not right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid I bought the paint from b&q. I bout different colours for all house. Some wall was after cleaning, some new plaster. All was primed properly. When I saw the pain is peeling I changed the primer but it didn't helped so definitely the pain is the reason. I can't use frog tape because the paint goes away with the pain. It's not only the frog tape. My bed touched a painted wall. When I want to move it the main from the wall left on the bed instead the wall. I don't know what I should do now. How to repair that. I spent a fortune to pain all house and it is huge disaster. I have much more pictures.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from After 7 coats it still looks awful We bought this paint in for our chimney breast. After using 1 pot, it was patchy so we bought another but it still looked patchy and streaky. It seems impossible to apply this paint without it streaking and leaving marks on the new section you're painting. We have used 3 different rollers plus a brush, we've watched videos of how best to apply mid sheen paint (I've only ever used matt but there was no matt in stock and so went with this one which the sales advisor told us was not too shiny) but it is impossible. I paint one strip and quickly try to move into the next section before the previously painted strip dries (as advised on videos) but it still leaves streaks and patches. Any sections that looked patchy, we went over when the paint was still wet but as you can see from pictures it looks even worse. We bought a 3rd tin and have done 7 coats in total and it still looks awful! Looks really awful and I now have no idea what to do. I wanted to now recaot with matt emulsion in the same colour but heard you shouldn't paint matt over mid sheen so really stuck with an awful looking wall :'(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Let down massive I had valspar v700 premium paint before for all the upstairs ib the house and it was great so then we started on the room we wanted a dull white just white with no tints we liked valspar bistro white what we saw on pinterest for the guy in b&q to say its not available its only in America. Were he then said this is a colour what everyone gets if they dont want bright white it was ghost something well after he said that we bought 2 5lt v700 tins expecting dull white and turns out its identical to dulux brilliant white and bright what a let down so now having to buy another 10ltr paint also it's like water and sprays all over it just feels shocking and I was a decorator by trade for 10yr should have gone to dulux dimond matt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real Quality After testing many yellow paints Valspar’s Mellow Moment was the only contender. The colour looks good in daylight (mine is North facing) and in artificial light. By day it’s bright and cheery and at night it’s soft and warm. I chose the matt finish which applied easily with very little odour. I am now about to do my front door and it will definitely be Valspar. The quality of the paint and the choice of colours is fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnolia is banned from my house. After failing to find an off the shelf colour I liked I stumbled on Valspar paint at B&Q Luton. I was overwhelmed by the choice of colours and settled on 'kernel of truth' yellow in v700 mid sheen. It is fantastic and has brightened up my hallway and suits my black floor boards. It is now spreading in to my kitchen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaves marks, chips and not wipeable! Brought this a month ago to be told 1 to 2 coats would be needed. 3 coats later and finally did not look patchy. Every time the walls are touched they darkness of the paint means it leaves white marks and this can just be from skin contact brushing past. I have used a damp cloth to wipe these away and now the water marks do not disappear. How it would withstand a scourer I would not dare try it! Ashame it does not do as we were told it would do and fortunately it is not a heavy traffic room because if it was I do not believe the paint could withstand this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One coat wonder I bought an extremely dark colour (caviar) and was painting over brilliant white for my feature wall. It took only one coat for full coverage! Worth spending extra for this one. Will buy again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour, unsatisfactory finish We bought 7.5lt of premium blend v700 in matt 'Shadows of time' for the living room. The paint had great coverage and went on smoothly with a roller. We adore the colour, it so vibrant. However we're really disappointed with the finish. It's supposed to be matt but it is more of an eggshell finish. It reflects even low lighting and the TV light bounces off it. Really not impressed. The living room feels cold. Gutted but will have to be painted over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coverage Currently renovating our 3 bedroom house and we have used it in every room. We used Soft Wool all over as our off white colour, most walls only needed 1 good coat, amazing coverage, impeccable finish. A few different colours for feature walls. We won't use anything else now as it is such value for money. Very very happy with our valspar paints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful awful paint. DO NOT BUY! I bought this to decorate my bedroom in my first house. After a few days of being on the wall it’s started to crack and is getting progressively worse. All the walls were prepped properly! All the other rooms were painted with a different brand were fine. I’ve emailed Valspar but not confident they’ll be much help after reading the reviews. So frustrating after spending more money to rectify a problem caused by the quality of the paint!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful stuff DO NOT BUY!!! I bought enough of this paint this less than a month ago to do the entire house in the same colour, 3 bedrooms in and it’s total regret. A lot of time and money had been spent for the paint to do nothing but crack and peel away from the walls. A week old and it looks years old. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Emulsion Ever!!! We had to paint a three story hallway which had previously been painted by a decorator with a yellow satin finish. I tried various sample pots but nothing seemed to provide good coverage so I went to my local B&Q and asked for advice. The Paint team recommended Valspar Premium blend v700. It was more expensive than the competitors but I decided to go with their advice and the results were really good. The colour was mixed to the exact shade required and even with just one coat completely covered the hideous yellow finish!! It was very easy to apply and clean up later was also very simple. Would definately recommend for those awkward jobs where you need to cover up some decorating disaster!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not scrubbable I painted my stairs and landing with this paint in Rustic Whicker. I am so disappointed as it is not scrubbable or even remotely washable. The paint has been on since April and so has had time to dry. I have just tried to rub off a black scuff mark with a damp cloth, the scuff mark remains, the paint has rubbed off onto the cloth. I am left with a lighter patch of paint.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful experience I was sold this paint by B&Q as the best paint to use on my chimney breast. Will cover wonderfully they said, and is scrubbable even! I had never used Valspar before, but I wanted something special prior to new skirting being fitted, Terrible coverage, even after 3 coats it's patchy. I just don't want to do another coat as it is so difficult to work with. This was a newly plastered, primed wall. I've wasted my money. Now I've got to buy again to cover this mess up. So disappointed.
