Rated 1 out of 5 by Ladystardustpam from Worse paint I have ever used After painting my bedroom a gorgeous deep red over a cream base , I discovered I needed four coats!! It is still patchy. The paint is like water and if you over-cross the brush strokes , even quickly it drags. After contacting Valspar to complain they said they would look into it via the lab. Valspar came back with some scientific jargon and informed me because it was a dark colour going over a cream base it needed a grey undercoat!! Rubbish! I have painted my Mum's bedroom deep red over cream using Dulux and only one coat. Don't use this product it is overpriced and like water. Stick to Dulux or Crown.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Charlieruth from Patchy and took 4-5 coats Victorian dusk - the paint was very runny, went on very patchy and took 4 coats, 5 in places to look reasonable. There is a sheen on the paint despite the fact we purchased Matt. the paint now chips off very easily. We also used on a mission. Love the colour and 2 coats were sufficient however very difficult to clean- dust can’t be wiped off and had to be repainted. Can’t just touch up a small area because it can be seen- have had to repaint full walls just to cover a small patch. Despite this would buy valspar again because of the range of colours, however will be using the v700 instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by David W from Product quality control I recently decorated my dining room with cherry macron V700 mat emulsion. The finish was dreadful and bore no resemblance to the colour or mat finish of the swatch. Valspar were good about the issue and gave me a voucher for free product in future. However, the time and disruption caused was signs and Valspar need to address the issue I’ve had to avoid others suffering the same consequences. We had to redecorate using V500 matt to achieve the required finish and colour.

It goes on the walls so easily and always gives the walls such a rich colour! Some paints can very flat looking but I never find this with this paint. I often find the paint only needs one coat if you do it carefully the first time! We usually do a second coat but i think that says more about our pinting skills! Love the incredible choice of colours especially if youre looking for an exact shade!

Sadly the paint is very runny so took 4+ coats on a baby pink wall. Perhaps a darker undercoat would have made my application easier, that being said I absolutely love the colour and couldn’t find another colour like this one in any of the other competitive brands so will buy this brand of paint again and would highly recommend for a more individual paint colour.

Love that any colour can be mixed Coverage is great. You obviously need a couple of coats esspecially if painting over a darker background but so do any other of the famous brands Very happy and always my first go to when decorating

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hannah1311 from Beautiful finish I was looking for a deep blue/teal paint for my bedroom and found the most perfect shade within the range. I chose a Matt finish. The paint was very easy to apply and I found the coverage amazing! Two coats and the room was perfect. When dried, the finish was almost chalk like, very similar to more expensive brands. I would thoroughly recommend valspar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Daughter loves it! We purchased a tin of Sweet Pea (lilac) for a feature wall in our daughter’s room. The colour matched the little colour sample card perfectly and went on really well. We probably could have gotten away with one coat, as it covered really well, but gave it two. We have also been able to wipe off dirty marks and over a year later it still looks great.
