We don't recommend mixing different Valspar paint formulations together, as this can affect colour consistency, finish and performance. It's always best to complete a specific job with the same product for optimum results and a great outcome.

Our colour chips are designed to provide a close representation of the finished paint colour. However, lighting conditions, room orientation and surrounding décor can all influence how a colour appears in your home. Should you want to be sure always try a colour sample pot first in the room you're painting. We advise trying it on the lightest and darkest areas of your room so you can be sure you'll love the colour in all lighting conditions.

Yes. Valspar Ready Mix should be stirred thoroughly before use. As with all water-based paints, some natural separation may occur during storage. Stir until the colour and consistency are even throughout the tin with a paint stirrer and make sure it reaches the bottom of the can.

For the best finish, durability and colour depth we recommend applying two coats of Valspar Ready Mix paint. Allow 2–4 hours between coats and ensure the first coat is fully dry before recoating.

A 2.5L tin of Valspar Ready Mix Walls & Ceiling paint covers an area up to 35m² in a single coat, depending on the surface and application method. We recommend two coats. Please note more porous, textured surfaces and freshly plastered walls may mean the paint doesn't cover quite as big an area.

Valspar Ready Mix Walls & Ceiling paint is available in 236ml colour sample pots and 2.5L tins.

Valspar Ready Mix Walls & Ceiling paint is suitable for interior walls and ceilings, including dry, sealed plaster, plasterboard and wallpaper. Please ensure surfaces are prepped correctly prior to painting.

For the best results:

1. Remove dirt, grease, grime and mould.
2. Fill and sand any cracks or holes with suitable, paintable fillers.
3. Lightly sand previously painted shiny surfaces.
4. Seal fresh dry plaster before painting.
5. Consider using a primer for dramatic colour changes and for more problematic surfaces.
6. If using masking tape remove before paint cures.
7. Ensure the room temperature is above 10°C and below 25°C for best painting conditions.
8. Use correct rollers and brushes for the surface and paint.

Great preparation helps achieve the smoothest, most durable finish.

Yes. Ready Mix is ideal for future touch-ups, provided you're using the same colour, finish and product. Store any leftover paint according to the instructions on the tin for best results. When touching up always make sure you're re-stirred the paint and you use paint from the can not from the lid!

It's not making a cuppa! Kettling, sometimes called boxing, is the process of combining paint from multiple tins into one larger container and mixing thoroughly before you start painting.

This helps ensure colour consistency across larger areas and is especially useful when using more than one tin for the same project. If you are unable to do this just ensure you don't change cans mid-wall, find a natural break such as a corner of 2 walls to change between cans.
