Work faster and smarter? YES YOU CAN!
As professionals, you’ll want to achieve a perfect finish on every job, without each job taking a lifetime. By carefully considering the products you use, you can work faster and smarter – from reduced prep to fewer coats. Read on to find out more…
There’s a lot of qualities that make up a good paint, from opacity and finish to viscosity and low spatter. As well as helping you to deliver a perfect finish, these factors can also make a real difference to you as the applicator, making your life easier…or harder. So, choose carefully!
Delivery
There’s nothing worse than getting to a big job and realising that, for one reason or another, you need more paint, having to then go back out and buy more. Alternatively, you could get to your site, measure up and then leave to go purchase what you need, losing valuable time where you could be painting – especially when collecting large orders.
However, with our Direct2Site service, you can simply order what you need and have it arrive at your site. This is available across all Valspar Trade ready mixed and tintable product orders of 150 litres or more, with orders placed before 10am eligible for next day delivery, saving you time. Work smarter!
Coverage
High opacity is essential, with the number of coats intrinsically linked to the time you will spend on a job. Good paint coverage comes down to the right balance of binders, pigments, and extenders. Extenders enhance opacity, sheen and whiteness, while additives improve spreadability, eliminating brush stroke marks. Our technical teams fine-tune these elements, testing coverage and spreading rate under ISO 6504-3:2019 standards to ensure smooth application, maximum efficiency and a flawless finish.
Low spatter
Whilst dust sheets provide a significant amount of protection, there is still the chance that an unexpected paint splatter can slip through the cracks. Avoid this risk and make your clean-up process that bit easier by using a well-formulated, low-spatter paint. This is achieved when the paint has the correct ratio of thickening agents, leading to a good viscosity.
Reduced prep
For a smooth painting process, proper preparation is key. Look for products that combine multiple prep stages into one, helping to save you time and energy. For example, a combined primer and undercoat, like our Primer & Undercoat, is ideal when you want quick prep and easy adhesion of a topcoat on a bare surface, such as walls and ceilings. For timber surfaces, like a knotty pine, our Knot Block Wood Primer & Undercoat can prevent knot bleed-through and cracking. Painting metal? Skip the primer entirely with our Direct to Wood and Metal paint – designed for direct application on bare or rusty metal, as well as exterior wood and timber, for a durable, hassle-free finish.
At Valspar Trade, we understand the importance of a job going well, which is why we offer a range of high-quality trade essentials that suit your every need and ensure a perfect finish.
