VALSPAR TRADE THE BRAND OF CHOICE FOR BAR REFURBISHMENT 

When transforming a former pub into a new contemporary sports lounge in Birkenhead, Valspar Trade was the paint of choice for the finished look, chosen in part due to the quality of the on-the-ground support offered by its local TSS team. 

Having previously worked together on the Blossom Lounge renovation, David employed Andy Alty from Alty Decorating Services to carry out the interior painting and decorating. Speaking about the project, Andy said: “I’ve used Valspar Trade paint on previous jobs, which led to an introduction to Chloe, my region’s Trade Sales Specialist. After having had a great experience with the Valspar Trade team, it was an easy decision to reach out to Chloe again for this project, particularly for support on calculating paint quantities.”

As well as attending site and helping to calculate the amount of paint required, based on site measurements, the Valspar Trade representative supported with finalising a colour palette that suited the interior space and the design brief. Andy continued: “David and I had already known that we wanted to use a dark brown on the woodwork, alongside a mustard yellow to bring some brightness into the space. However, we were unsure of which colour would accent this well. Chloe went through the Valspar Trade fan deck with us, which really helped us to visualise our ideas and ultimately, we landed on a cheerful turquoise shade.”

 With time of the essence, Valspar Trade’s Direct2Site delivery service was invaluable, as Andy explained: “Chloe promptly arranged the Direct2Site service and had the paint delivered straight to the job site, which saved me the job of travelling and collecting it myself. This really helped to speed up the project, making my work both quicker and easier to complete.

“Across the project I used various colours of the Valspar Trade Tough Matt paint, including shades Black Bean, Goose Feathers, Ochre Mountain and Cape Verde. I sprayed Black Bean on the woodwork, which applied easily and was very full coverage, but I was most impressed with how Goose Feathers covered existing dark spots on the ceiling in just one coat, leaving the surface with a clean, crisp finish.”
